"TRACES" OPENING SATURDAY 11TH MAY - VIEW OUR CREATIVE OPEN PROGRAM JULY 2024

Letters to Lee Krasner

ILANA M. KRESNER

Letters to Lee Krasner is about "staring creativity in the face". It documents Kresner's deeply personal journey to identify as a “creative being”. Whilst the exhibition is a physical, recorded and painted pictorial conversation with her late cousin Lee Krasner, whom she sadly never had the opportunity to meet, it is also about her zealous quest to capture the elixir of Art.

In attempting to harness art’s power to move, shape and inspire - Kresner has been deeply humbled by the miraculous Universe that she shares and co-exists within. Art has had the power to heal, it has taught love, it comforts and it has connected her across the barriers of time and space to other artistic soulmates both living and gone.

Ilana's imagined mentorship with Lee Krasner has led her to artistic home. A place she has long searched for but have just started to find. Kresner states "Please come into my home too. Let’s have a cup of coffee and a beautiful natter together. For friends and Art are the perfect recipe for happiness."

Letters to Lee Krasner is showing across the Imaginer Gallery and Gallery 109, at 105 and 109 Sydney Road, Manly from the 28th Feb - 10th March 2024.

Join us for the exhibition opening on Thursday 29th Feb from 6pm hosted across both galleries.

The catalogue of works will be available online from Wednesday 28th February.
